Cees Veerman steps down as DHV Group supervisory board member

Prof. C.P. (Cees) Veerman will resign as a member of the Supervisory Board of DHV Group, the international engineering consultancy, effective 1 January 2012. Mr. Veerman has held this position since March 2010.

The resignation is triggered by DHV's recent appointment as leader of the winning consortium in the Mekong Delta Plan project in Vietnam. This prestigious project is part of the Dutch government’s Global Water Program, under which the Netherlands has committed to provide Vietnam with aid to produce a plan for the Mekong Delta. Mr. Veerman has, among other accomplishments, chaired the Dutch Delta Committee 2008 and for a number of years has been an adviser to the Vietnamese government in a personal capacity. He will therefore be closely involved in producing the plans for the Mekong Delta. In order to perform this role and for the sake of transparency, he has decided to step down as a supervisory board member at DHV Group. This project is of great importance to the Vietnamese people, as well as in the relationship between the Netherlands and Vietnam. DHV Group thanks Mr. Veerman for his insights while on the board and wishes him the greatest success in this key role.

Following the resignation of Mr. Veerman the DHV Group Supervisory Board will temporarily consist of four members: Mr. Wim van Vonno (chair), Mrs. Sybilla Dekker (deputy chair), Mr. Hessel Lindenbergh and Mr. Arthur van der Poel. It is the intent to expand the board back to five members in the future.
