Message of the Board
We are pleased to present you with our 2009 Annual Report. The year 2009 was a year full of challenges, which were met with full confidence. Our turnover continued to grow and operational results remained positive. This was due in part to our strong position in the public sector and acquisitions of the Dutch firm NPC and American consultancy Innova. Our presence in the growth areas of Asia and Africa also contributed to a positive picture.
The emphasis of our theme Connect & Deliver in 2009 was to remain close with our customers, resulting in long-term partnerships and high-quality projects. In the theme pages (27-37) you will find a number of exemplary achievements, such as the full-scale Nereda® water treatment plant in the Netherlands and the developments around sustainability at airports. These are innovative and sustainable projects, of which we are very proud.
